Just today I was interviewed by CEO Update on the trends and evolution of AMS. It reminded me of the interview that I recently had for Aptify’s Expert Interview Series. One of the questions asked today was so similar to one of the questions that Aptify asked that I had to post it here.
Q: What types of features do you think are universally useful for most organizations?
Teri: Gosh, there’s a list of about 30 or more modules to help achieve business processes, but keep your eye out for a reputable API. Also, don’t expect your association software to do everything well. Their core competency is doing database management and being the purest system of record. Why would you expect them to also be your Learning Management System, Event Management System, and email Campaign provider? Do you ask your mailman to deliver your email?
I hope I’m not being too Pollyanna here, but I think that associations are actually embracing this and finally starting to evolve at an acceptable pace. What do you think? Shoot me a message.
